Marketing for Haitian businesses

A marketing agency that already speaks your language.

Work with someone who understands the language and the customer context. Founder Pierre is from Pétion-Ville, and Adsvio operates from Santo Domingo. We help Haitian-owned businesses connect their website, search presence and social content.

Nou konnen kijan sa ye

Whether your customers are in Little Haiti, Flatbush, Montréal-Nord, Mattapan or Delmas, you have probably been offered marketing by people who had to look up where that was. We start from the other end.

What usually goes wrong

Haitian-owned businesses across the diaspora tend to have the same shape of problem, and it is rarely the one agencies try to sell against.

The business runs on bouch-a-zòrèy, and it works: up to a point

Word of mouth inside the community is genuinely powerful. Church on Sunday, the barber, the WhatsApp group, the cousin who knows somebody. Plenty of businesses have been built entirely on it and have never needed anything else.

The ceiling is that it only travels as far as the existing circle. The second-generation customer who searches in English, the neighbour who is not Haitian, the person who moved into the area last year: none of them are in that circle, and none of them will ever hear your name.

The presence is on Facebook, and only on Facebook

A Facebook page with 2,000 followers, posts in Kreyòl, and an active comment section is a real asset, often more real than the website of a competitor twice the size.

A Facebook page can help people discover you, but it does not replace a useful website or an eligible business profile. Keep an owned domain and a reliable contact path so one platform is not your only connection to customers.

Language gets treated as an afterthought

Either everything is in Kreyòl, which quietly excludes the wider neighbourhood and the second generation, or everything is in English, which quietly tells the aunties this place is not really for them.

The answer is not to pick one. It is to be deliberate about which language does which job, and that requires somebody who can actually hear the difference.

What we do about it

The same 45-day foundation we build for everyone, with three things that are simply assumed rather than negotiated.

  • Kreyòl is a first language, not a translation pass. Copy is written in it, not converted into it. There is a difference and your customers can hear it immediately.
  • WhatsApp is the main channel. Not a form. Click-to-chat on every page, on the map listing and on a QR code by the register, because that is how people in this community actually make contact.
  • You get found by people outside the circle. A Google Business Profile done properly, so the neighbour who searches in English finds you too.
The goal is not to replace word of mouth. It is to stop word of mouth from being the only thing holding the business up.

Markets we serve remotely

Adsvio works across the Haitian diaspora and the wider Caribbean: Florida, New York, Massachusetts, Quebec and Ontario, plus the Dominican Republic and Haiti itself. The scope and fixed quote follow the audit of your business.

For South Florida businesses and other remote projects, communication runs over video calls and WhatsApp. We check whether the time zones line up. They usually do.

What changes

What changes.

The point is reach beyond the circle you already have, without losing the circle.

You show up for people who do not know your name

An accurate, eligible business profile and useful service pages give people more ways to discover what you do. Visibility is earned over time and varies by search.

Your presence stops being rented

A site, a domain and a profile you own outright. If Facebook locks the account tomorrow, the business is still findable on Monday.

Both audiences feel spoken to

Kreyòl where it belongs, English or French where it belongs, decided deliberately rather than by whoever built the page.

The part you are worried about

What people ask us first.

“Èske nou ka pale kreyòl?”

Wi. Pierre is from Pétion-Ville and Kreyòl is his first language. You can run the entire project in Kreyòl (the calls, the WhatsApp messages, the drafts and the reviews) and never switch to English once.

Nou ka travay an kreyòl, an franse, an panyòl oswa an anglè. Se ou ki chwazi.

“Is this going to be too expensive for a business my size?”

Projects start at $850, with the required scope and one fixed price agreed after the audit.

There is also a three-month payment plan. Ask on the call. Nobody has to explain why they need it.

“I have been burned by someone who took the money and vanished.”

This comes up in almost every first conversation, and it is the reason the offer is shaped the way it is: a fixed price agreed before we start, a fixed 45 days, and something to look at every week.

If we miss that date for any reason on our end, we keep working at no additional cost until it is live. That guarantee exists because of exactly this objection.

“My customers are older. They are not online.”

Your customers may already use WhatsApp, Facebook or search to check a business before visiting. We look at the channels your actual customers use instead of choosing from assumptions about age.

Questions

Questions we get asked.

Do you only work with Haitian businesses?

No. Adsvio works with businesses of different backgrounds. English, French, Spanish and Kreyòl support helps us adapt the project to the audience; it is not an eligibility requirement.

Can you work with a business in Haiti?

We can discuss the project and check practical requirements such as communication, access, hosting and payment tools before agreeing the scope.

Which language will the website use?

We agree the language or languages around your customers and the information they need. The scope also needs a realistic plan for keeping that content accurate.

What kinds of businesses can this help?

Professional practices, home service businesses and local storefronts can all need a clearer online presence. We start with the actual gap and explain whether our services fit.
